There’s lots of good eating at Islands of Adventure–and if you’re down for chilling with the Dinos, I’ve got a spot for you!
No–it’s not Burger Digs which has a totally dismal allergy offering. Instead we’re talking about the food allergy options at Thunder Falls! Need food allergy recs for the rest of the park? Check out this beginner’s guide for Universal Orlando and all your food allergy needs.
Inside the resort, you can even see the Jurassic Park ride from the dining room on the right. The splash of water is huge and totally entertaining!

Food Allergy Options at Thunder Falls in Islands of Adventure
This location is a quick-serve–so be aware that offerings can change and menu items are very limited! If you need more options, I highly recommend heading over to this restaurant at the front of the park.

First things first, do they have a dedicated gluten free fryer?
Why yes, yes they do!

For Gluten, the chef said it was decently easy–everything but the wraps and the deserts would be safe. He said egg and nuts aren’t hard here either.
Dairy, fish, and shellfish can be easily accommodated too. Soy is always the trickier one and if you can do soy lethicin, you’re good with the meat.
If you avoid all forms of soy, you should plan to have jackfruit as the substitute.

What we ate that was allergy friendly
We spoke to a chef about multiple ingredients (including May Contain and spices). They make the chicken marinade out of orange juice and it has no top allergen in it.
We grabbed the modified Rice Bowl and it comes with rice, black beans salsa, plantains, and chicken.

For gluten free, my husband didn’t need to do anything extra.
And the Bowl without cheese is gluten free and dairy free.

If this isn’t your style, you can always head over to Hogsmeade and eat there in Harry Potter Land.
Peanut and tree nut allergy is not listed. This allergy is far more important than the others.
Hi Ryan, Nuts as a whole are listed under “Food Allergy Options at Thunder Falls in Islands of Adventure”. The Chef said that Nuts, both peanuts and treenuts, are not hard to accommodate here. I would recommend that you head to one of the three sit down restaurants in the parks if you have a severe ANA allergy, and get a fannypack with a clip (important!) to carry the epipens on rides as I’ve seen people eating in lines from random food in their pockets.
Those three restaurants are:
Finnegans in Universal Studios
Mythos and Confisco in Islands of Adventure
Plus if you stay on property, which I recommend, you’ll find a lot of treenut and peanut free items in the shops. The Moderate and Deluxe resorts have the most options.
Enjoy your vacation!
