Satu’li Canteen Food Allergy Menu Animal Kingdom (Review and Photos!)

This is another place that we really enjoy going to in Animal Kingdom, the new Satu’li canteen. I say ‘new’ because if you don’t come a lot, it can be a new place since it’s a newer addition from the Pandora Land (which is pretty awesome, especially at night!)

Eating in Animal Kingdom with Food Allergies can be sometimes challenging since many of the options are ‘strongly flavored’ and Disney loves to highlight other cultures with authenticity.

We’ve eaten at Satuli a number of times, especially because my husband loves eating gluten free at Chipotle so much and this is very similar.

Everything is pretty laid back, and easy to customize. It’s a totally different feel than Restaurantosaurus though!

Whereas Restaurantosaurus is obviously dinosaur themed, Satu’li Canteen is more like a jungle safari atmosphere. (It’s based on the world of Pandora, which makes sense with where it’s located!) The airy, high-ceilinged dining room and wooden decor make you feel like you’re about to go on an otherworldly adventure!

And whereas Restaurantosaurus has a pretty standard “American fast food” menu, Satu’li Canteen has both signature menu items and build-your-own customizable bowls (hence the comparison to Chipotle!) Satu’li also carries a bit more flavor and some more unique options that excite regular folks and gives those with food allergies a reason to dive deep into the ingredients.

There’s indoor and outdoor seating, and if you feel comfortable with mobile ordering, you can do that here as well! (including the allergy menu!) You can find all the quick service options that have an allergy menu for easy planning!

Precautions and Eating with Allergies at Disney World

For one, when you reserve dining, make sure to list your allergies (they don’t have options for all, so pick what you can!) Then CLARIFY at check in that you have allergies, get an allergen menu and ask to speak to a chef or manager.

Please consider talking to a manager or chef- especially if you have more than one allergy and ESPECIALLY if you have a cashier that might seem like they don’t know what they are doing.

Eating at Satu’li Canteen with Food Allergies

Satu’li Canteen’s menu consists of pretty standard bowls with rice, protein, and veggies.

You have a choice of chicken, beef, tofu, and shrimp for the proteins, rice, noodles, potatoes, or salad as a base, and several different salad dressing-type sauces.

They also have sides such as steamed bao buns, but those are only safe for certain allergens, like egg and peanut/tree nut.

For our meal at Satu’li Canteen, we went with chicken (and we’ll get into the allergy information in just a sec!) with rice as a base and veggies on top.

The chicken was pretty good. I was not a huge fan of the veggies- but the rice is absolutely amazing!

Definitely a balanced meal, though. It’ll keep you full as you start your adventure into Pandora: World of Avatar! (Or, you know, Animal Kingdom in general!)

Here’s what our bowls looked like: grilled chicken, rice, and veggies!

Food Allergy Menus at Satu’li Canteen

These menus are good for the top 8 allergens. They are gluten free, soy free, egg free, dairy free, fish/shellfish free and peanut treenut free.

The bowls do NOT come with the boba on top due to precautions, and I couldn’t get the manager or the chef to confirm if they were soy boba or tapioca.

However, the build-your-own customizable style of Satu’li Canteen makes allergy friendly modifications fairly manageable for most other items.

Plus, their food allergy menu is organized by allergen and easy to understand. You can see clearly which items you can choose from and which to avoid!

Gotta say, it’s always a plus when allergy menus are well-organized.

Eating gluten free, dairy free, or peanut/tree nut free is pretty easy here. Most proteins are allergen-friendly (with several obvious exceptions in the fish/shellfish and soy categories). Same with the bases. You might just find yourself a little more limited with which sauce you can choose, especially if you’re gluten free, egg free, or soy free.

Who knew eating gluten free, dairy free, or allergen free in general was so possible in the world of Pandora?!

What else is at Animal Kingdom?

There’s actually quite a few delicious eats at Animal Kingdom, like these churros that you’ll only find one other place on property, some crazy good bowls in Pandora, and some dino-tastic eats that the kids will definitely love.

Plus- there are sweet treat’s at Animal Kingdom in Zuris Sweet’s Shop!

Then you can hop over to animal kingdom lodge for some safe and friendly Zebra Domes (not just at boma, but anyone can get them!) and anyone can go to the resort- it’s definitely a must see!
