Restaurant Skip List with Food Allergies or Gluten Free at Disney World

Save this post for later

These are all the places I wouldn’t recommend going to on your next Disney World Vacation.

While I won’t go into too much detail, restaurants end up on this list for one of two reasons. Either they had very few food options, or the service/allergy awareness was very bad.

Your mileage may vary, but it would be dishonest of me to say that all of my experiences at Disney World while eating Gluten Free with Food Allergies are perfect!

Skip These Restaurants at Magic Kingdom if you have Food Allergies

I’m pretty disappointed with the new Menu at Tony’s. This used to be an easy reservation to get with lots of great gluten free and allergy options. There are still options for everyone- just with the Chef’s Modifications as there’s not a lot on the menu.

Aloha Isle, Sunshine Tree Terrace, Storybook Treats and Friars Nook are all firmly under the ‘we dont like to modify’ group. If you are looking to avoid stress or having to advocate for yourself, skip these four smaller quick serves for something less stressful. I’d recommend Plaza Ice Cream or certified allergy treats at The Confectionary.

You should skip Liberty Tree Tavern if you have multiple food allergies or need to talk to a Chef. The Chef’s there are either great or will flat out refuse to talk to you (i’ve had both happen in the last year personally).

Several reports of issues with Pinocchio Haus and Cosmic Rays. Trust your comfort level if dining there.

Skip These Restaurants at EPCOT

San Angel Inn inside the Mexico Pavilion. Our experience was so bad, I’ve yet to try the other restaurant across the street as they are owned by the same company (though no issue with the quick serve or the Bar)

All of the Crepe Options in France. They go back and forth on allergy options/gluten free and I’ve been told opposite things at least 5 times (including two different managers).

Chefs de France. No Allergy Menu and the Chef was not confident plus concerned. I spent 35 dollars on plain unseasoned steak and salad.

Skip These Restaurants at Animal Kingdom

Warning for picky eaters that Tusker House might be too flavorful and different for lunch and dinner, but service here is good.

Mr. Kamals, Trilo-Bites, Terra Treats, The Smiling Crocodile, Kusafari Coffee Shop have limited options and cannot accommodate many allergens (they do have ingredient binders you can check)

All Table Service and any Quick Service with an Allergy Menu is good to go including Nomad Lounge and Tiffins. (Rainforest Cafe and Yak and Yeti do not have allergy menus).

Skip These Restaurants at Hollywood Studios

Sci-Fi Dine In. Not only is the food boring, but I also had very bad anxiety with all of the soft death threats, hints of r@pe, and screaming every few minutes. See the review here.

Mama Melrose is a non-memorable option with safe boring eats. You can easily skip it, but if you go, you’ll have safe food (it’s a perfect last minute reservation option).

I also very much dislike ABC Commissary for gluten free, soy free, dairy free. It’s a good option for nut free.

Skip at Disney Springs

Since I was served my allergen at Disney Springs in Summer 2022, I’m gonna pass on CityWorks. Even though I talked to a manager twice- it still didn’t work right. The loud music and bar atmosphere do not help at all.

All of the locations at Disney Springs are third party owned and your mileage will vary. D-Luxe Burger is Disney Owned and fantastic, and B.B. Wolfs is Disney Owned and Nut free. Third party options like The Boathouse, Salt and Straw,Blaze Pizza and Frontera Coquina are also good with communication about ingredients and allergens.
