It’s that time of year! The Grand Floridian Lobby has been transformed into a winter wonderland and the Grand Floridian Bakery has set up a large scale Gingerbread House!

There’s more festivities around the resorts. See these Chocolate Gingerbreads at Beach Club resort, at Erin Mckennas in Disney Springs. plus some insight into the Disney Foodie Guide where we get four gluten friendly (and hopefully allergy friendly) gingerbreads this year!

***As Always, please speak to a qualified restaurant employee when ordering food. In order to see the most accurate ingredients and risk assessment, you will need to confirm allergy safety in real-time. Special Diets Options

There are two special diets options available currently at the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House.

Previously this also featured Erin Mckennas dedicated gluten free gingerbreads (you can see this from 2021), but they told Erin Mckenna’s Bakery that they would not be serving them this year at Grand Floridian. Erin McKennas is still available at their Disney Springs location and available for Delivery to Disney Resorts.

Please Note: The labeling on the Special Diets options is different from the other available options. The ‘no gluten added’ cookies only say, “made fresh by Grand Floridian Bakery” when the other’s say, “handmade and decorated by the Grand Floridian Bakery”. I was told they are made in house using allergen procedures, but I will be investigating further to determine if they are batch made and frozen, or made in another area and then cooked in house, or some other combination.

Yet again another reason I dislike the labeling laws, especially for private sale, here in the United States. Three point checks (asking and checking multiple times) is so helpful here to make sure options are safe!

No Gluten Added GingerSnap Cookies (Allergy Friendly)

  • Price: $15
  • Worth It? 7/10
  • Description: Soft cookies with a side of spicy.
  • Contains Major Allergens: None

I did go ahead and try these cookies, and also made the decision to finally purchase a gluten sensor for scientific reasons. No gluten added is one of two ways that Disney labeled their ‘gluten free’ options. Gluten Friendly is the other term they use and you can learn more here.

Talking with Cast Members, I was told they are made in house using allergen procedures. I’ve had several options from Grand Floridian Bakery over the last year that were no gluten added and have had zero reactions.

The cookies are soft, slightly crumbly and very well flavored.

I was sad to see that they are 15 dollars a bag, especially in comparison to the gluten-full alternatives. These are a 7/10 on the worth-it scale.

No Sugar Added Chocolate Chip Cookies
