Disney has changed Waffle Mixes AGAIN (we’re at 6 in 5 years) and I was so surprised to find it rolled out park wide this last month.

This is made by the Golden Malted Company, which also makes another Gluten Free mix with Soy Flour and regular Malted Mixes which contain Gluten.

New Golden Malted Gluten Free and Allergy Mix

This mix is so new, I couldn’t find it on the Golden Malted Website or anything else on Google (which is always concerning).

I did email them, and I’ve attached the response below!

The mix is made with:

Rice Flour, Corn Flour, Sugar, Baking Powder (monocalcium phosphate, corstarch, sodium bicarbonate), canola oil, salt, natural flavor, xanthan gum.

When I emailed Golden Malted, I was told that the blend is mixed in an allergen room, and that Allergens are present in the facility. Allergens present are Milk, Soy, Egg and Tree Nuts.

Review of the New Allergy Friendly Mickey Waffles!

The First Day, when I wasn’t sure of the facility or how it was made (the name “Malted” doesnt inspire confidence!) I had my Aunt try the Waffles. She has no dietary restrictions.

She liked them, said they were chewy, and cooked well. She tried them plain, and said they had little flavor and were bland… that they need butter or syrup or toppings.

The next day, after the quick response from Golden Malted, I tried the waffles myself!

First thing to notice, these are a bit crispier than the previous waffles. The last mix was more muffin like, and these new waffles are more crispy (and they didn’t get soggy from the condensations of the togo box!)

The next thing was the uneven distribution of waffle from one side to the other, so if you open them up, they don’t look symmetrical.

BUT, when you bite down on them, they have a great waffle texture and consistency.

Both times I got these waffles they were well cooked and not doughy.

I’m pleased with this new blend, and have to thank Disney Special Diets team for coming through for our community! I don’t know why the switch from Bloomfield Farms to Golden Malted, but I’m happy that Disney continues to provide Gluten Free AND Top 9 Allergen Friendly Waffles.
