Character Meals are a fun addition to your park day, and there’s several options to choose from a Magic Kingdom!
At a Character Meal, you’ll get the chance to meet characters, get signatures, autographs and videos, all while having a meal.
Character meals are an addition price, and do take about 1.5 hours, so we talk more about when they are worth it here.
Is there Character Dining at Magic Kingdom?
Yes! There are three locations that have Character Dining options at Magic Kingdom. For Pooh and Friends, head to The Crystal Palace. For the Beast (and just the Beast), go eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant. And lastly, for all things Princess, enjoy a meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table.
What is a Character Meal?
Character Meals are sit down table service meals that have Characters. These can include both Face Characters like Princesses, and Fur Characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.
The Characters come around to your table, and you can get hugs, autographs and pictures. They also do a ‘dance’ of some sort during the meal, though some people refer to it as a parade. This is specific to each meal as the songs, mannerisms and audience participation changes.
Character Meals include food and you have a server (so you will need to include a tip, as tips and tax are not included in the character meal price). See the full guide for Character Meals at Disney World here.
My favorite at Magic Kingdom is Crystal Palace, but I do enjoy Be Our Guest for the inside views and theming. Outside of the parks, each of the Character Meals mentioned has their own charm (and ‘Ohana is the winner for me!). But Character Meals aren’t worth it for everyone- see more about which Character Meal is worth it for you!

Adding just a few years ago with the expansion of Fantasy Land, Be Our Guest is a Beauty and the Beast Themed Restaurant. This location is tucked away at the back of Fantasyland and easy to miss(it’s between the Carrousel and Little Mermaid Rides), as I’ve walked past it a few times myself.
The inside is STUNNING and truly one of the most well done interactive options as far as meals goes. You get to see the Beast, but you do not get to see Belle. This is more of ‘his’ castle, and you are paying for the views and themed foods. It’s technically a Character Meal, but more of a Character hybrid.
