When you’re on Island Time, you definitely want to be at Margaritaville! And despite the name, this festive place in CityWalk at Universal Orlando was not only family friendly, but food allergy friendly as well!
CityWalk is located in between the two main Universal Parks (not including the newest Volcano Bay water park) and has quite a few good options for food.
Let’s take a look at the food allergy procedures and options at Margaritaville!

***As Always, please speak to a qualified restaurant employee when ordering food. In order to see the most accurate ingredients and risk assessment, you will need to confirm allergy safety in real-time. This is my personal experience, I am not employed or endorsed by companies or brands mentioned.***
Food Allergies at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville: how does it work?
Similar to many restaurants at Universal, there isn’t a large dedicated menu, so they brought a chef out.
They do list some gluten free items, and they also had a beyond burger as a vegetarian/vegan option. (It’s served with cheese so double check that!)
And there IS a dedicated gluten free fryer that is a soy oil base but surprisingly, their sweet tea has gluten.
If you wonder why you have to be vigilant, that’s why.
I grabbed a Blue Island drink from the kids menu (red dye free!) and it came in a super cute light up cup. Highly recommend!

So anyways, the Chef came out and was great about answering questions!
Below, I’ll list the gluten free, gluten/soy/dairy free and top 8 free eats that we got!
Gluten free eats!
There’s quite a few options! Bowls, salads, and lots of sandwich options. There’s an allergy friendly bun (contains egg) that’s safe for most people.
Here’s the Rancho Deluxe Burger that’s been modified to be gluten free. Again, there is a dedicated gluten free fryer.
Hubby enjoyed it–and like most allergy friendly buns, this one started to break apart during the meal.

Gluten, soy protein and dairy free options
Managing multiple allergens gets trickier here. Chef said that some of the bowls could be modified. Some of the salads too.
Here’s the Grilled Chicken Breast with veggies and fries. Kiddos absolutely loved it.
You could also do the Beyond Burger and veggies or fries and mix and match a few options!

Top 8 allergy friendly eats
Lastly, there was the top 8 option with grilled chicken and fresh rice. The island rice contains dairy, so I got the plain salted rice. It was very good and filling!

Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Food Allergy Friendly Menu
They do not have an allergen menu, but you can view the regular menu to mix and match some options. I was pleasantly surprised with how willing they were to accommodate and modify!
Here’s the kid’s menu first:
