Hollywood Studios Food Allergy Options (Menus, Reviews, Tips) 2023 update

Hollywood studios, previously known as MGM studios, is one of the ‘smaller’ parks on property.

Previously, it was a half day park, but with several updates in the last few years the park is much more tourist friendly.

Including the addition of several allergy friendly locations, plus changes to all of the menus to accommodate more of us with dietary needs!

Just need Gluten Free? There’s a separate Gluten Free Hollywood Studios guide for that! Galaxy’s Edge has it’s own section, you can find the Galaxy’s Edge Allergy Friendly + Gluten Free Guide here.

⭐ If this is your First Time to Disney World, you’ll want all the insider tips and done for you plans found in the Food Allergies at Disney World Made Easy Guide , If you’ve been here before and just need the best places to eat and snacks, see the Touring Plan and Snack Guide. Just Gluten Free? There’s a guide for that too!

***As Always, please speak to a qualified restaurant employee when ordering food. In order to see the most accurate ingredients and risk assessment, you will need to confirm allergy safety in real-time. Quick Tips for Food Allergy Friendly Hollywood Studios

Before we talk about stuff in the parks, let’s talk about what you should know before you get into the park, especially when we talk about free from eating.

First things first, you can (and should ) bring in some snacks or even meals to Animal Kingdom. See more about bringing in food to Disney World here.

You can also bring in a reusable water bottle, or buy a water bottle and refill it. All of the refill locations are listed here.

Second thing is that you need to know that the menus and offerings can (and will) change especially when talking about allergy friendly food. Sometimes its that the suppliers dont have it on hand, sometimes it’s that they aren’t selling the food (though most of the allergen friendly food at Animal kingdom is prefrozen and then cooked for you!)

Then when it comes to strictly quick serve, Mobile ordering is another option that Disney World has pushed in 2020- and good news! It’s pretty easy to use with a non-life-threatening Allergy.

For those of you with severe allergies, Mobile Ordering is not the best option, and you need to walk up to the quick serve and talk to them about placing and order with a cashier and manager. Here’s everything you need to know about mobile ordering, plus a walkthrough.

Best Allergy Friendly Quick Serve at Hollywood Studios

Quick Serve Locations with Allergy Menus

    • Docking Bay 7
    • ABC Commisary
    • Backlot Express
    • Rosie’s All American
    • Pizzerizzo

The best place to head if you have a Food Allergy would be Rosie’s All American Cafe on Sunset Blvd, plus right next door at Catalina Eddie you can get Allergy Friendly and Gluten Free pizza cooked in a dedicated oven.

Docking Bay 7 or Woody’s Lunchbox, both of which have a limited number of Allergy Friendly options, are very friendly and fun. but the lines + location can be hard to access.

AND they are one of the few parks that have allergy friendly breakfast at the Quick Serves.

You can get the Totcho bowl or the sandwiches at Woody’s Lunchbox.

    Breakfast options at Hollywood Studios

First up, a fan favorite, Hollywood and Vine Disney Jr. Character Breakfast! This is a fun first meal of the day, with an AUCE buffet! See the Allergy Menu and Review for the Disney Jr Breakfast.

    Woody’s Lunch Box

The totchos can be easily modified and friendly for all top allergens, they offer dairy free cheese, you can add or subtract eggs, sauces and gravies. This is a very customizable item! Plus they offer Udi’s Gluten Free/Allergy Friendly Bread to get a sandwich even for breakfast.

    Ronto Roasters

And you can also get Overnight oats and a plant based wrap at Ronto Roasters in Galaxy’s Edge. The Overnight oats list Milk as an allergen (no others listed) and *** are made with Quakers Oats, which is not ok for many who have an issue with oats. (they are not purity protocol. Earlier this year, they were using Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free, but have switched to Quaker because of supply issues)

Plus Ronto Wraps! These are new in 2023, and you can see the Allergy Menu and more about Ronto Wraps here.

Best Allergy Friendly Table Service at Hollywood Studios

There’s several really great Table Service options at Hollywood Studios!

We’ve got a New Table Service location that opened in March in Toy Story Land! See the Full Review and options for Roundup Rodeo BBQ here.

Let’s start with the easiest to get, but also one of my least favorites. Mama Melrose, over by PizzaRizzo quick serve, is a great table service option with lots of gluten free eats including bread and desserts. On it’s own, it’s a great location, but when compared to some of the other options I’d recommend you skip it and go to…

Absolutely 50’s Prime Time Cafe. This location has a healthy number of allergy friendly options. This location is also home to the famous Gluten Free Fried Chicken, made in a dedicated fryer.

Not into the vintage vibes at 50’s? Head over to Hollywood Brown Derby for even more incredible eats. If you dine here, you won’t feel left out as there’s multiple appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

My absolute least favorite, and the one I won’t recommend, is Sci-Fi Dine In.

Lastly in the Table Service section is a Character Meal! There is only one character meal at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it serves breakfast lunch and dinner. For lunch and dinner, Hollywood and Vine transforms into seasonal offerings. I’d rank this as one of the better Character Meals on property. If you want to dine at a Character meal outside of the parks (and without needing a ticket), see these character meal recommendations.

Notable Allergy Friendly Snacks at Hollywood Studios

Blue and Green Milk in Galaxy’s Edge. Only listed allergen is Coconut.

Parmesan Chips at FairFax Fare, which list Milk, Soy and are made in a shared Gluten Full Fryer.

Babybel Cheese- it’s all over the parks, but it’s fun to eat it in Toy Story Land where there is lifesized Cheese Displays

Ice Cream at Hollywood Scoops. They have Tofutti Vanilla and Chocolate. As well as Vanilla and Chocolate Ice cream that only list Milk as the allergen (no corn on some flavors)

And the strangest snack is going to be this andoan fruit found in the Galaxy’s Edge section of the parks.

That’s all for Allergy Friendly Animal Kingdom

With lots to see and do at Disney World, it can get alittle overwhelming, that’s why I’m including guides for the other parks! Food Allergies at Magic Kingdom and Food allergies at EPCOT and Animal Kingdom

Everyone should eat well on vacation! Learn more common questions and concerns in the Food Allergy FAQ or the Gluten Free Disney FAQ.
