Food Allergy Friendly ‘Mickey Shaped Food’ at Disney World

Save this post for later

We all love a good mickey shaped treat! But what about for those with allergies? Do they still get safe options?

You betcha! But you might need to hunt for it, or use your imagination (though sometimes the chefs do sprinkle some pixie dust for some super fun creations!)

However- there’s something for everyone at Disney World, and you’ll find lots of fun and safe treats below- but as a reminder, Disney does not count ‘may contain’ when they create their allergen warnings, and you could be at risk for cross-contamination with some of these items.

Please ask to see the allergen binder when you get to the store/restaurant so you can make a decision there with the most current up to date information.

Planning your Dining? Head over to this quick reference guide to learn about the best restaurants at Disney World for those of us with food allergens!

Mickey Bar

Contains: Milk and Soy

Where can you find it: Various Places throughout the park- it’s very easy to find! You’ll see kiosks with banners and most shops will have an ice cream section where you can find these!

Mickey Waffles

Contains: DEPENDS- some places only offer the golden malted which has soy flour. Other places have the Namaste Brand which is top 8 safe.

Where can you find it: Just about every restaurant has the Golden Malted Brand. Many of the Character Meals have the Bob’s Red Mill Mix (not cape may or tusker house)

A few have the top 8 Namaste Brand like Ohana’s .

Wanna make them at home? We’ve got all the deets for yummy Mickey Waffles when you’re away from the parks.

Monday’s are for Mickey waffles 🤤⁣ ⁣ Ok let’s talk about probably the most infamous of Mickey foods- the Mickey waffle. ⁣ ⁣ You can get these almost anywhere on property- but things are always a little more colorful when you deal with food allergies! ⁣ ⁣ Your best bet for Mickey waffles with food allergies is at a table service restaurant (or character) or at the resort. Breakfast quick serve options can be limited in the parks! ⁣ ⁣ There’s also the mixes to consider. ⁣ Disney generally carries three kinds ⁣ 🧇Bobs red milk (allergen friendly but has CC warning) ⁣ 🧇Namaste (top 8 safe) ⁣ 🧇Golden malted gluten free (soy /corn based and vegan) ⁣ ⁣ Depending on your restaurant- some may have a dedicated waffle iron, others will offer to clean it for you, and some will tell you ‘no’ depending on your allergens and cross contamination tolerance. ⁣ ⁣ If you’ve been around awhile or read in the allergen groups- namaste mix has been hard to find! I’m happy to tell you that there’s been a lot more sightings in 2020 as it’s our preferred brand with our allergens 🎉⁣ ⁣ Tell me how long till your next Mickey waffle?
