Food Allergy Friendly Quick Serve at SeaWorld Orlando

As more people become aware of food allergies and dietary restrictions, we get more options!

Vacationing has always been hard, but lately the theme parks are stepping up their game when it comes to allergy friendly offerings, SeaWorld Orlando included.

Here’s a selection of possible offerings when it comes to Seaworld Orlando. While these are all fast food types (that’s primarily what you’ll find there) they also have a delightful sit down restaurant that was comparable to Disney.

***As Always, please speak to a qualified restaurant employee when ordering food. In order to see the most accurate ingredients and risk assessment, you will need to confirm allergy safety in real-time. This is my personal experience, I am not employed or endorsed by companies or brands mentioned.***

Let’s talk about Food Allergy and Gluten Free options in 2022

These are quick service fast food type locations (not sit down). For a sit down option, and the location that Seaworld recommends, head to Sharks Underwater Grill. There’s a full review plus allergy menu for Sharks Underwater Grill!

Recommended Quick Serve for Food Allergies is Lakeside Grill.

The problem? It’s not always open! When it is open, it has allergy friendly buns, a dedicated fryer, allergy friendly brownies.

Sweets Shop- This location does not have an allergy guide for the food in the case, and they are actively roasting nuts (and then cross contaminating everything with their gloves)

Starbucks- This location had the most options out of all the locations I checked (and I think I checked them all!)

There was Udi’s Muffins, Sweet Street Brownies, Dried Fruits, Davids Cookies.

Edy’s Ice Cream– Old Allergy Book. Got supervisor who was able to check the ingredients and then get the ice cream from the back from a fresh container, fresh scoop etc. Note there are no dairy free options and the vanilla had gluten/wheat. Open containers of nuts.

Fins Gifts– Across from Sharks Underwater Grill had Outshine Bars,

Altitude burgers -Has Udis buns. Current Regular buns are soy and wheat with a TN and sesame CC warning (do to supply issues) . Bakery products are CC warning for all allergens. No peanuts, nuts, shellfish or fish in house. Fries are shared fryer with cheese sticks and onion rings.

Sesame Street Food Trucks– They had the old allergy binder (listed below). They no longer carry the Udi’s Bread and they do not even offer fries or have a fryer for fries. The location is all nut free, fish and shellfish free.

Seafire Grill– Has Udi’s Buns. No Dedicated Fryer. Lots of allergens present. Has a grilled chicken that the Chef said can be made safe for all allergens. Has Fruit options.

Here’s a few places that had allergy friendly eats (quick serve) in Spring of 2020 (March, April, May)

Seaport pizza in 2020

We’ve had a safe pizza at seaport pizza! It came out to us wrapped up to prevent cc. Very impressed and a decent crust–it wasn’t doughy.

It was soy protein, gluten free, peanut/treenut free, and shellfish/fish free. It did have dairy, but they mentioned they would be getting dairy free cheese soon!

Mango Joes in 2020

Next up is Mango Joes.

Here we had a safe Gluten free bun with our burger and fries. The manager cautioned us that the fries are cooked in a shared fryer (there’s a dedicated fryer below), so we got those for the intolerance and fruit for the allergies. Burger bun was very crumbly but doable.

Yummy Yummy Nom Nom in 2020

Despite the weird name, this little eatery has quite a few options! I was pretty impressed with what we got here.

Dedicated fryer for fries first off, which is a big deal. Then we got to enjoy a safe Gluten free sandwich. It was Udi’s bread. (Which has egg, but is safe for the other top 7.)

The manager was one of the most informed and helpful allergen aware people that we had found at Seaworld!

Expedition Cafe

This is honestly one of our go tos because we could always get plain rice and a side of meat. Plus they have lots of fruit options and salads and prepackaged foods. BUT recently they stopped carrying as many prepackaged options and the plain rice.

We had difficulty at the following places:

The Spice Mill

Waited 20+ minutes for a supervisor to bring out a binder. They didn’t have anything besides fruit and plain chicken.

Sea Fire Grill

Was told that most everything is cross contaminated because of the buffet style in which they serve.

Conclusion

Your mileage will vary at SeaWorld when it comes to quick service and allergy friendly options. Some are aware, some are not! Always ask to speak to a chef or manager and check out the allergen binder.
