Famous for their pies, stew and fish and chips–they come recommended in the allergy community as a safe place to eat!
So let’s talk about food offerings and allergy friendly meals at Finnegan’s!

Food Allergy procedures and what to expect
For starters, there is no allergy friendly menu at Finnegan’s.
And there is no dedicated fryer–it is soy oil and there is also gluten! Fish, too. Fryers would be off-limits for most!
There is an allergy bun! It contains egg but is free from other top allergens.

But I spoke with a manager (chefs don’t typically come to the table here) who was quite knowledgeable about options. He says that they don’t like to keep too many dedicated allergy friendly options as is and would rather modify.

What I ate at Finnegan’s that was Top 7 allergy friendly (contains egg!)
The manager checked a few things and I decided on the regular burger with allergy friendly bun! They served it with parboiled potatoes.

As a side item, they served me the allergy friendly “bread.” This was actually just the bun bread they used for the burger, and some apple butter. Both delicious!

Overall, it was a safe and yummy meal! See below for some other options.
Allergy Friendly Offerings
Corned Beef and Cabbage (modified) would be top 8 friendly.
Shepherd’s Pie with ground beef and mushroom with cheddar cheese contains gluten. Not nuts or eggs.

Beyond Burger Vegan Shepard’s Pie is gluten and dairy and egg free (contains a soy based margarine drizzle)

Salads are also an option–but allergy friendly toppings and dressings are quite limited. Below are some other options that you could modify:

I have celiac and had the beef tenderloin, the chef did come to the table and speak with me. The meal was delicious and was so convenient! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone with allergies or sensitivities!
