Going to Walt Disney World with your toddler is such an incredible experience! Seeing the magic through their eyes as they meet their favorite characters, take in the new sites, and explore new lands is incredible.

It’s also exhausting.

So when I say there are 10 really amazing rides for toddlers at Disney World, I say that from personal experience! And if you’re going soon, be sure to check out the ultimate guide for taking your toddler to Disney World.

You’ll want to keep the young kiddos entertained while keeping your vacation sanity intact.

So let’s talk about these rides! I’ve picked Walt Disney World rides for toddlers that are typically low wait times, and they are also fun to ride again and again! Plus, they are toddler, baby and pregnancy friendly, so they should accommodate most people in your party.

Lastly, these ten best rides for toddlers at Disney World are found in all four of the parks, so no matter where your tickets take you, you’ll have a great option to take the little ones on!

And, I know you’re busy, so here’s the perfect packing list for toddlers headed to Disney World!

10 rides for 2 and 3 year olds at Disney World you don’t wanna miss!

These rides for toddlers are:

  • Normally Lower wait times (all bets off at Spring Break and Christmas Break)
  • Not scary for toddlers (no meltdowns here!)
  • No height requirements (so everyone can ride)

Buzz Lightyear in TomorrowLand at Magic Kingdom

This is an interactive ride that fits two adults, or one adult and two small children. There are two blasters (so if you take three, they can’t all participate) and you get a score at the very end! This is a very slow moving ride that has a lot of silly aliens to look at.

You can meet Buzz Lightyear as you exit. Most toddlers love meeting characters, but I’d recommend you check out this toddler character meeting guide in case they absolutely hate it!

Buzz Lightyear with my toddler and baby!

Finding Nemo in The Seas Pavilion in Epcot

My kids have loved this ride long before they ever watched Finding Nemo. There is a fun story line to this ride that keeps everyone entertained, and lots of cool effects that will have you enjoying this ride many times!

BONUS: this ride lets out where the EPCOT aquarium is. You definitely need to spend some time here with your toddler and enjoy the fun sights and air conditioning. There are so many fun things at Epcot for kids, it’s one of our favorite parks!

Finding Nemo has these cute little shells that you ride inside

Toy Story Mania in Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios

This is one of the newest rides to the Walt Disney World resort, and quickly becoming a favorite! It is set up similar to the Buzz Lightyear, but not quite the same. You use fake ‘poppers’ to hit 3-D targets. Two people sit on one side, and it is slightly jerky, but nothing my toddlers mentioned.

There’s a lot of other things for toddlers to do at Hollywood Studios, like these rides, and these fun toddler hollywood studios activities!

One of my favorite walls of all time is outside the Toy Story Mania Ride! Can’t wait to take another picture to see how much he’s grown!

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Hollywood Studios

We have ridden this a few times, and we all love Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway!

The very newest ride at Disney World is great for toddlers. It does have a bit of a line in the mornings, but time’s tend to level out in the afternoons.

This ride is unlike any I have ever been on, and you truly become one with the ride. It is incredible, and well worth a wait time. You can see all the cool details on this new ride here!

Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in Magic Kingdom

A fun and very classic ride, everyone loves the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh! Well… I should clarify that my 1.5-2 year old does not like the humpfalumph part of the ride, but it’s short, and by age 3, it doesn’t seem to bother them anymore.

If you think your toddler might be bothered, just watch the youtube ride view ahead of time so you know what to expect!

Navi River Journey in Pandora in Animal Kingdom

We have not watched the Avatar Movie, but we LOVE this ride. For one, it’s super easy to get in and out of the boat, and for two, it’s a really relaxing ride.

There is nothing to do here but enjoy the really interesting night time effects and see the cool creatures.

This ride is super short though, so if you end up facing a long wait time, you’d be better off enjoying Dinoland which has rides, meet and greets and a playground great for toddlers!

Dumbo the Flying Elephant in New Fantasy Land in Magic Kingdom

There are several of these basic air flyer rides reminiscent of a fair at Walt Disney World. But Dumbo is the absolute favorite!

For one, it’s got two sides, so the line goes pretty quickly!

For two? There’s a hidden playground on the inside that is fed with air conditioning. Talk about heaven! My toddlers ride this several times on our trips and I have no complaints.

Under the Sea~ Journey of the little Mermaid in New Fantasy Land in Magic Kingdom

My favorite thing about this ride is how entertained my toddlers are when we ride this.

There’s no questions, no giggling, just glorious quietness as they delight in the cute effects and fun songs of the ride. This is very similar style to the finding nemo ride with the clam shells, and it’s one I could ride many times with the little kids.

OH and you can meet ariel right next door.

Living with the Land in the Land Pavilion in Epcot

Living with the Land is not your typical ride. It has a story, and it has Disney effects, but the Disney characters are kept to a minimum as the ride explains different ecosystems and way of growing our food.

My toddlers have a lot of oohhs and aahhs on this ride, and I learn something new every time. Bonus?! It’s almost 10 minutes of floating along in the cool air, and something I highly recommend on a hot day!

The Transportation at Disney World Resorts

Yes friends. My toddlers are way more excited about zooming around the monorail, catching the skyliner and being chauffeured down main street than they are most rides.

The beg and plead to ride the monorail, talk about the skyliner non stop, and think the ferry is the coolest thing they’ve ever seen. I guess it’s the small things!

Anyone can hop on the monorail or skyliner, so let me give you some ideas. On a magic kingdom day, you can leave magic kingdom and head to the monorail to ride the resort loop. There you can get off at any of the three resorts and check out the theming and fun there!

On a hollywood studios or epcot day, you can exit the park and head to the skyliner. I recommend the Hollywood Studios, and hop over to Art of Animation for breakfast or lunch and check out the playgrounds there!

What about Frozen in Epcot?

While we’ve gone on this ride many times, It almost always scares the toddlers that are with us. I mean, the ride photos are funny in a “we’ll laugh about this in 15 years” but you might want to consider your toddler’s comfort level.

We can ride the Haunted Mansion too?

Technically toddlers can ride the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom, BUT, it is too much for most little kids. There are a lot of ghosts and spooky elements.

You can I know that it’s all just silly fun because we’re older, something that a 2 or 3 year old isn’t going to really understand. We attempted MNSSHP with our toddler, and let’s just say that their were quite a few nightmares after that event. Skip Haunted Mansion till they are 4 or 5 and understand it’s a ride and not reality.

So the Best Rides for Toddlers at Disney World are great for you too!

There you have it friends, 10 really fun rides your toddlers are sure to enjoy on your next trip to Disney World! From Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story Mania, to Mickey and Minnie’s Runway Railway, and classics like Finding Nemo and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. There’s something fun for your toddler to ride at every Walt Disney World Park and they are a must add to your toddler trip itinerary!
