It’s always a fun treat when you can have items that a ‘rare’ finds in the allergen world.
Like Onion Rings. Especially Top 8 Free onion rings.
Yep, you read that right. Gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free, egg free onion rings 😋😋
BUT, this last adventure with the allergy friendly onion rings in Disney Springs left a lot to be desired.
Onion Rings at Disney Springs are more batter than flavor
So what’s the disappointing for first is that they don’t have an allergen menu for the regular onion rings. But we can work past that by speaking with a manager.
What was really sad was the inconsistency of the flavoring with these allergy friendly, gluten free, vegan onion rings.
In the past (and mind you, this is the only onion ring location I’ve had in 5 years) the onion rings had some flavoring.

We aren’t sure if this is a fluke, or if they left out the seasoning, or if this is the way it will be going forward… but these onion rings were bland!
they literally tasted like plain gluten-free flour and onions and oil.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy when they have them available. After all, they are made in a dedicated fryer and great for most allergens (they do use corn oil!).

The consistency was amazing and so fun when you don’t get to have this option normally, But I was so sad that it tasted so plain. (And yes, I did talk to someone there and he wasn’t aware of any changes to the allergen blend)
That said these are a great top eight friendly snack option especially for those of us who don’t know any better… but don’t have crazy high hopes for “regular” tasting onion rings.

Find this option at the quick serve Cookes of Dublin, or at the sister sit down location Raglan Road. You can also find allergy friendly Fish and Chips here as well!

Here is the allergen insert as of October 2021- and as always CHECK ingredients in real time and speak with an employee (I am not one!)
For the *regular* onion rings (not the top 8 allergen friendly ones in a dedicated fryer)
